THE REHEARSAL SHOWERS OF BLESSING
It was Wednesday the 4th, rehearsal, I arrived at 3:40 for what was a 3:00 rehearsal, droplets of water were being sprinkled by the rain. I walked into the huge tent which (instantly reminded me of Noah’s ARK in the bible) it was already filled with graduands, brightly lit up by the lights in the high ceiling and the faces of my fellow graduands, RELIEF was on all the faces. As I walked briskly to get a seat I glanced to my left and right and saw a few class mates from CARIMAC Who expressed their delight in seeing me with a thumbs up ,smile and a shout of HEY!! Already a presenter was on centers stage indoctrinating the excited graduands of how the awarding process ought to be exercised. The dress code was first on the agenda, of which i was privy to, then three students were called on stage to demonstrate how each graduand should accept his/her degree when he/she got on stage. Then the prelude was played which was soon accompanied by singing showers of rain on the outside. Showers of blessing indeed. Oh i must say the UWIMONA graduation committee has so far done an excellent job, as we were all high and dry inside the ark like tent and no grass or dirt was there to mess our shoe as i observed what looked like plastic or rubber tile flooring in the tent. Having endured about 2 hours of our last Undergrad tutoring all graduands were treated to cocktails at the Mona Visitors’ Lodge. So I got my gown, my pictures, got my rehearsal; next in my hand will be the certificate that will make me into a man. BLESS UP BLESS UP SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS.
