HARDWORK OVERCOMES ALL DIFFICULTIES: BE A GO-GETTER

When I was in high school I learnt that the go-getter goes until he gets what he goes for , the go-getter works until he gets what he hopes for, he fixes a goal and revolves around it, the way to the prize is to go until he gets it.

I took this as a personal charge. Upon enetering UWI as a part time student, i realized it was not going to be an easy road but i was determined to do well. I must admit i met some great people who were a part of the many groups. Some of the lecturers were so inviting and really helped to shape my path.

Graduation Week

It has been a long road to travel to this point right now. A journey filled with obstacles and distractions of all sorts but after it all it has made the end result even sweeter.Today Thursday the 5th of November we rest on the eve of our formal entrance into the great society of UWI graduates.I must say that registration process went smoothly, apart from the long lines in the bank and at the bursary, from here we await that faithful call of our names starting at 5:30 tomorrow. Congrats to all.

THE REHEARSAL SHOWERS OF BLESSING

It was Wednesday  the 4th,  rehearsal, I arrived at  3:40  for what was a 3:00  rehearsal, droplets of water were being sprinkled  by the rain. I walked into the huge tent which (instantly reminded me of Noah’s ARK in the bible) it   was already filled with graduands, brightly lit up by the lights in the high ceiling and the faces of my fellow graduands, RELIEF was on all the faces.

T-2 DAYS AND COUNTING...

It's Thursday and the countdown continues to the big day; for some of us on Friday and for others on Saturday. Graduation rehearsal was yesterday afternoon and aside from the formalities it was an opportunity to catch up on old times (only a few months, but old times nonetheless) with friends. But the reality did set in, at least for me, that the time has come where we bring a close to this chapter of our lives. The grand hubbub of graduation day is alive and it seems as if old habits really do die hard after all. T-2 days and some people haven't bought the shoes (ps.

The Build Up to the Big Day

So today was rehearsal for graduation, and I am now starting to catch the graduations fever. At first, I wasn't looking forward to all the excitement of trying to look good, but today it finally sank in that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and we deserve to go all for it, regardless of the dent it leaves in our pockets :). So ladies, here's to getting your hair did, your nails did and getting a maddd dress/ suit with the shoes to match. Gentlemen, sort out the line up/ hair cut, and get your suit ready. We only have two days to get the graduation swagger on...

Don't worry...I guess

“Don't worry about the future. Or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind, the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.”

THE END OF Ring Road !!

From 06 to 09 , UWIMONA has been the place  to make me shine. My matriculation has finally taken me to my graduation which will grant me some work place elevation. UWIMONA  has been a life impacting experience. In the closing days of my  tenure here , many a exam stress i had to bear, but in just a few more days  my royal blue robe i shall wear a true testimony that indeed i was here and also got my share. So  GOOD BYE RING ROAD FOR NOW.  THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME ATTAIN MY  EARTHLY CROWN. ..........

'Little Big Head'

Amazingly that’s what my parents called me as a child….‘little big head’….apparently, according to numerous accounts, as a baby I was merely more than a big head---one would think your parents would be ashamed to share that but not mine.  Today, little big head has grown up and she has a regular sized head like the rest of us homosapiens but the name still stuck.  Now that I am about to graduate I think my parents are losing it.  I don’t know how many of our graduates have parents who seem to think that your graduating is synonymous with them loosing you.  My

Student Emancipation

It has been almost 4 months since my emancipation from being a student, and boy do I miss it :). Working obviously has its advantages of getting a salary, but somehow now you look back on your life as a student and wonder how you used to survive because before you know it, your salary is almost used up. As time wears on though, I personally find that you get better at managing the new independence- budgeting, paying bills, juggling social life and the obligation of knowing that you MUST go to work (the sweet options we were afforded as students no longer exist).
